Lead an outdoor youth program!

Canadian Wildlife Federation

Are you passionate about spending time outdoors and on the land? Do you care a lot about taking care of our environment and wildlife? Are you interested in being a mentor and role model for youth in your community? Then this opportunity is for you!The Canadian Wildlife Federation is seeking leaders to bring our WILD Outside program to young people in their home communities across Canada.WILD Outside is a free, low-barrier program for 15- to 18-year-olds that connects them with nature, helps them build a relationship with the land, and gets them giving back to their communities through environmental stewardship projects like removing invasive species, planting native species, restoring damaged areas, monitoring wildlife populations, creating community gardens, etc. WILD Outside helps young adults develop leadership and teamwork skills and explore future employment opportunities. What does your community need? We know that you know best. Work with your group to plan and carry out the projects that will make the most impact locally.DIVERISTY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION: We want our youth participants to see themselves reflected in the adults that lead their program. We want participants to have role models that they can relate to through shared experience. If you belong to an equity-seeking group, we encourage you to apply! What you will get out of volunteering with us: • Participate in fun outdoor activities for free! • Gain skills to add to your résumé • Share your knowledge and skills with others • Meet new people and make connections – both personal and professional • Give back to your community • Be a role model and inspire youth to give back to their community • In some cases, you may even be able to earn certifications like Standard First Aid, WILD Education, or OCC Field Leader training through WILD Outside! • Receive WILD Outside swag!Check out our website at wildoutside.ca
